About the Artist
Malcolm Brown is a Canadian multimedia artist and designer whose work is inspired by the landscapes of the prairies and mountains he has called home. Over the past fifteen years, he has lived throughout Canada and the United States in places that continue to shape his perspective and artistic practice.
His paintings are imaginative reinterpretations of the natural world, blending vibrant colour with geometric pattern to explore the relationship between landscape, memory, and design. Influenced by countless hours spent hiking, climbing, camping, and aimlessly wandering through wild places, Malcolm's work invites viewers to rediscover a sense of awe and curiosity in the landscapes that surround us. His hope is to bring a little of that wonder indoors, creating artwork that feels both deeply familiar and delightfully unexpected.
Curiosity has led Malcolm to explore just about every creative medium he gets his hands on. Over the years he's designed logos, painted murals, crafted jewelry, built custom furniture, made concrete home décor, played percussion and guitar, constructed custom piñatas, and danced a jig or two. He's still waiting to find a medium that doesn't spark his interest. Until then, his attention will likely remain gloriously divided.
